Right Start Preschool
|
LeRoy Right Start Free Preschool programming is funded by the Illinois State Board of Education and is sponsored by LeRoy School District. In addition to the state-funded program, the district also offers morning (8:00-11:00 am) and afternoon (11:50-2:50 pm) tuition based PreK, Pre-K Care (11am-2:50 pm), and before (6:30-8:00 am) and after-school programming (2:50-5:30pm) for children 3-5 years old.
PreK Curriculum
Our program uses the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, small group rotation, and focuses on early literacy. Our program gives children the opportunity for a variety of experiences including math, science, writing, and reading appropriate for their age. This philosophy aids children by giving them a positive view of their abilities and a strong and confident desire to continue to learn. Other materials we use are Zaner Bloser, Jolly Phonics, Haggerty Phonemic Awareness, and Touch Math.
Mission
In partnership with parents and the community, we will collaborate on establishing an innovative, authentic learning experience that instills the desire to be a life-long learner and problem solver. We are committed to providing a child-centered developmentally appropriate learning environment that will foster independence, creativity, and curiosity while nurturing our students thinking enabling them to reach their greatest potential.
