 PreK Curriculum

Our program uses the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, small group rotation, and focuses on early literacy. Our program gives children the opportunity for a variety of experiences including math, science, writing, and reading appropriate for their age. This philosophy aids children by giving them a positive view of their abilities and a strong and confident desire to continue to learn. Other materials we use are Zaner Bloser, Jolly Phonics, Haggerty Phonemic Awareness, and Touch Math.

 Mission

In partnership with parents and the community, we will collaborate on establishing an innovative, authentic learning experience that instills the desire to be a life-long learner and problem solver.  We are committed to providing a child-centered developmentally appropriate learning environment that will foster independence, creativity, and curiosity while nurturing our student's thinking enabling them to reach their greatest potential.

Program Goals

  • To provide a safe and healthy environment.

  • To provide purposeful and thought-provoking experiences that build on what a child already knows.

  • To teach socially acceptable techniques for expressing thoughts, feelings, and problem-solving.

  • To promote a healthy self-concept and to teach independent living skills.

  • To provide curriculum and instructional practices that align with the Illinois Early Learning & Developmental Standards.

  • To improve children’s future school success by enhancing their early skills and knowledge.
