Welcome Back

Panther Families,

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!  We are excited for another new year as we continue our mission of developing an Involved Community, Competitive Students, and Productive Citizens.

Student Achievement

Careers of the future are even more unpredictable than ever before, so it is important that our students are well-rounded and adaptable when they transition to life after LeRoy Schools.  We will continue to grow our Habits of Success (Ownership of Learning, Personal Responsibility, Personal Growth, and Professionalism) and Profile of a Graduate (our goal is to ensure all students are college, career, or industry ready upon graduation).  Work on our HOS and POG begins the day our students enter Pre-K and continues through the moment they cross the LeRoy High School graduation stage to enter the college, career, or industry of their choice.  We believe in providing students with a wide range of learning opportunities and experiences to help them develop into successful adults.

Facilities

A significant amount of time, during a very short period of time in the summer, goes into general maintenance, cleaning, and facility improvement to make sure we are ready for students, families, and staff each year.  Our custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping staff did another amazing job this summer preparing our facilities for the new school year.   Last year, we made some significant facility improvements, specifically with the Dud Berry Gym HVAC system.  This summer’s projects were smaller and have less of a wow factor, but are essential to our operations.  You will notice replacement of the parking lot retention wall at LeRoy High School, additional handicapped parking access at LHS, and several internal work space changes and improvements.  While this year was a smaller scale of facility improvements, we will soon begin receiving County School Facility Tax (CSFT) revenue, which will be used for larger improvements next summer, as well as property tax rate abatement and safety and security measures.  First up on our long-term facility planning list is asbestos tile abatement and hallway flooring replacement at LeRoy Elementary School.

Finance

Last year, we ceased charging our General Registration Fees.  The only fee for all students is our flat rate Technology Fee of $75.  Our Tech Fee goes to offset the cost of our technology infrastructure, Chromebooks, iPads, digital curricula, etc.  There are a lot of costs at the start of the school year, and we hope eliminating our General Registration Fee will continue to help decrease that burden.  Please note that your child is not fully registered until all fees are paid.

We also want to emphasize our Regular Season Athletic Pass, which is $75 per individual or $150 for a couples pass.  If you attend more than 15 district events, this pass pays for itself.  Our event admission fee this year is $5.00 for all attendees, but LeRoy students and Golden Ages (55+) are always free.  New this year, we are proud to add Military Veterans to our free admission list.  Thank you for your service!  You can purchase athletic passes by contacting Karin Morgan (morgank@leroyk12.org) in the district office or at one of the upcoming home events:  8/23 - All Class Reunion and Legends Night Football;  8/25 First home volleyball game;  8/29 First home football game.  Check or cash only.

Community Relations

Our focus will be on effective communication, consistency in decision-making processes, and transparency.
