Welcome Back

Panther Families,

Welcome to the 2026-27 school year!  We are excited for another new year as we continue our mission of developing an Involved Community, Competitive Students, and Productive Citizens.

Our Student Achievement

Each year we like to kick things off by reminding our students, families, and community of our Mission and Vision.  Careers of the future are even more unpredictable than ever before, so it is important that our students are well-rounded and adaptable when they transition to life after LeRoy Schools.  We will continue to grow our Habits of Success (Ownership of Learning, Personal Responsibility, Personal Growth, and Professionalism) and Profile of a Graduate (our goal is to ensure all students are college, career, or industry ready upon graduation).  Work on our HOS and POG begins the day our students enter Pre-K and continues through the moment they cross the LeRoy High School graduation stage to enter the college, career, or industry of their choice.  We believe in providing students with a wide range of learning opportunities and experiences to help them develop into well-rounded successful adults (academic, career exploration, work study, co- and extra-curricular, and service).

Our Facilities

A significant amount of time, during a very short period of time in the summer, goes into general maintenance, cleaning, and facility improvement to make sure we are ready for students, families, and staff each year.  Our custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping staff did an outstanding job this summer preparing our facilities for the new school year.  We have a lot of noticeable major facility improvements, but many of our ongoing upgrades go unnoticed.  However, the work our maintenance staff does throughout the summer is essential to keep our buildings operating at a high level and looking incredible.  Thank you to all of our maintenance staff!

Over the summer, revenue from the County School Facility Tax allowed us to make several significant facility improvements, with the majority of the focus on elementary flooring renovations.  This was a significant project that turned our entire elementary building into a construction zone for the majority of the summer.  The most important part of the project was abating remaining asbestos glue tile from a portion of the original 1955 building.  All hallway tile in the entire building and multi-purpose room/cafeteria was removed and replaced with luxury vinyl tile to match the existing tile in the elementary entrance.  We also replaced interior office spaces and teacher’s lounge flooring with carpet tiles.  Everything was topped off with walk off carpets at all entrances/exists and new lockers for the 5th and 6th graders.  Additional smaller projects included painting the RVS gym, sanding/painting/refinishing Dud Berry Gym Floor, and renovating the weight room.

Our Finance

For the 2026-27 school year, we decided to cease charging families for Athletic Participation Fees.  For over 20 years, the District has applied a participation fee for athletics.  We believe strongly in the value of student involvement—both in the classroom and beyond. Participation in co- and extra-curricular activities helps develop the whole child - building interpersonal relationships, resolving conflict, building resilience through highs and lows, and prepares our students to be competitive in their future careers. With the waiver of athletic fees this year and registration fees two years ago, the only remaining fees are a $75 Technology Fee for all students and a $150 Driver’s Education fee for students taking Behind the Wheel at LHS.

We also want to emphasize our Regular Season Athletic Pass, which is $75 per individual or $150 for a couples pass.  If you attend more than 15 district events, this pass pays for itself.  Our event admission for Athletics and Fine Arts is $5.00 for all attendees, but LeRoy students, Golden Ages (55+), and Military Veterans are always free.  You can purchase athletic passes by contacting Karin Morgan (morgank@leroyk12.org) in the district office or select events during the school year.  Check or cash only.

Our Community Relations

Our focus will continue to be on effective communication, consistency in decision-making processes, and transparency.
