🚨 🚨3:15 Update - Elementary school is back up and running. We will be in regular session on Friday. Additional details will be sent this evening. Plan on bringing water to school tomorrow but we will also have plenty of bottled water. 🚨 🚨
🚨 🚨 12:30pm Update🚨 🚨
1. Classes are operating normally at the elementary school. We will have normal dismissal.
2. There is no After School Panther Care. If you have concerns with pick up, please call the elementary office.
3. We have a water line break on our property that does not affect neighboring residents.
4. We are problem-solving having restroom access available until the end of the day.
5. Students have access to bottled water.
6. We made lunch adjustments and all students have eaten.
7. We are currently evaluating the impact on Friday. Right now we are planning to be in session and are doing everything we can to be in session. If we are unable to be in session Friday, it would be a Remote Learning Day for the entire district that would not need to be made up.
8. We will make a decision regarding Friday as soon as possible. That likely will not occur until 4:00pm at the earliest, but we will make a decision by 6:00pm.
Due to the ongoing water situation at the Elementary school, after-school Panther Care is cancelled today. All parents of Panther Care students must contact the office to arrange alternate dismissal plans prior to 2:30 PM.
Thank you for your understanding!
🚨 🚨 11:15am We are still in the process of evaluating a water leak coming out of our elementary building into our back parking lot and are working with the city to determine the cause.
Our water main has been shut off so there is not water to the elementary building. We have a solution for students to get bottled water as needed and for bathroom use.
Otherwise we are operating as normal.
We will update you when we have more information.
🚨 🚨 10:52am We are in the process of evaluating a water leak coming out of our elementary building that is flowing into our back parking lot toward our Meadow Lane neighbors. Right now, nothing is affecting our classrooms, lunch, or water. Operations are normal. We will update you when we have more information. 🚨 🚨
We will have a shuttle bus running between our buildings and 150 to pick walkers between 7:45-8:15. Also, if you are dropping off at the Elementary school, please help our staff out by having your kids ready to get out of the car quickly. Thank you to all of our staff working outside in the cold this morning - particularly our bus drivers, maintenance staff, crossing guards, and drop off helpers.
Le Roy High School students Jack Benter and Bo Zeleznik recently finished participating in the NASA/IPAC Teacher Archive Research Program (NITARP).
NITARP pairs science teachers from around the country to work with professional astronomers at Caltech in Pasadena, CA to conduct an authentic astronomy research project using archived telescope data. Bo and Jack’s sponsoring teacher, Jeff Benter, physics teacher at Tri-Valley High School, was selected, along with three other teachers from around the country, to work with Dr. Luisa Rebull. Their team’s project was to identify young, still-forming stars (known as young stellar objects, or YSOs) in two star forming regions within the constellation Cassiopeia using infrared and optical (visible light) data primarily taken from the WISE, Spitzer, and Gaia space telescopes, as well as the ground-based 2MASS program.
After learning the astronomy background through the spring of 2024, the team traveled to the Caltech campus for a week last summer to complete their training with Dr. Rebull. After working through their data, they found 123 likely YSOs in the two regions, each of which are about 4,700 light years away. The team then presented their findings at the 245th Conference of the American Astronomical Society held near Washington, DC this month, which had over 3,000 astronomers in attendance from across the country.
Wednesday, January 15 - Our Internet is currently down which also takes down our phones. We are working to get it resolved as quickly as possible. Please email attendance to your child’s main office.
8th Grade: All Josten's order forms are due to the main office by next Wednesday, January 22nd (cash/check made to Tboy’s Inc/Jostens).
Illinois weather is the best! It is snowing and will be throughout the morning. Take extra time to get to school safely. Buses may run a little behind for extra precaution.
Contact Le Roy Elementary School to be on the list to receive preschool screening information!
LJHS Student Council conducted a Penny Drive to raise money for Le Roy Kiwanis Angel Tree this year. These students represent a small portion of the winning section, who raised $189 of the total $563!
LeRoy Schools will be in session today. We did have some freezing rain with snow falling on top. Roads that have been salted are melting. Our lots and sidewalks are salted as well. Please take your time and be safe getting to school. Buses may run a little behind to ensure extra caution.
High School Final Exams are right around the corner. Detailed information regarding finals has been sent to families via Skyward and shared with students. If your student has any questions about finals, they should reach out directly to the individual teacher for clarification.
Stay positive. Work hard. Finish strong! Good Luck, Panthers!
Congratulations to our NHS Inductees!

We are currently experiencing issues with our phone system and are not receiving external calls in any building. It appears to be a Frontier/Verizon issue. We are working to get it resolved. If you need to contact us, please reach out to a building administrative assistant. Thank you!
