🌱 LeRoy High School Leading the Way in Ag Education! 🌱
LeRoy High School ag teacher and FFA adviser Jason Perry, along with three of his ag students, are piloting an exciting dual-credit project in partnership with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign this year. The course, ACES 102: Introduction to Sustainable Food Systems, debuted this fall, blending classroom learning with career exploration. ACES 102 introduces students to the many ways agricultural, consumer and environmental sciences touch everyday life — from food systems and human health to sustainability and community development.

Our Junior High Student Council spread some festive cheer last week with a holiday door decorating contest! This fun-filled activity showcased teamwork, creativity, and a whole lot of competitive spirit… including one team that attempted to bribe the judges with a gift box full of chocolate!
Winners:
🥇 1st Place: ROCKin’ Around the Christmas Tree
🥈 2nd Place: Mr. Larson’s Christmas Vacation
🥉 3rd Place: Mrs. Claus’ Gingerbread House
Fun was had by all, creativity was on full display, and the winners earned some serious bragging rights!
Last Friday, our HS Student Council hosted a $5 pancake and sausage lunch, with all proceeds benefiting the United Way of McLean County. Thanks to the generosity of our students and staff, the event was a huge success and one we hope to make an annual tradition!
The United Way of McLean County has a direct and meaningful impact on our school community. They support our students and families by:
- Providing gas cards and gift cards to families in need
- Supporting the Summer HEAT employment program, which offers job opportunities and training for juniors and seniors
- Partnering with Thrivemind to provide confidential, external mental health support for students, primarily through virtual appointments.
A big thank you to our kitchen staff and Mr. Larson for helping make this fundraiser possible, and to everyone who donated and participated. This year, we raised $430.00 for the United Way of McLean County.

Due to the cold so bitter, the snowfall so deep,
Our grounds and our walkways are hard to keep.
Though maintenance crews worked all morning long,
Safety must come first, even before our song.
So with heavy hearts, we must sadly say,
Tonight’s joyful concert cannot take place today.
The LeRoy Junior High and High School Christmas Concert is canceled, it’s true,
But our holiday spirit still shines through.
Our students will record each tune with care,
And later this week, the music we’ll share.
Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy the cheer,
May peace and joy fill this time of year.
We’ll sing again soon when the weather is right,
Until then, Merry Christmas and a warm winter night. 🎶✨

Tomorrow's girl's games at Meridian have been canceled. We will play on Tuesday at 6:00p vs Maroa at Meridian.
Tomorrow's home boys basketball game vs. Mt. Pulaski has been postponed. We have rescheduled the game for Tuesday December 23rd 1:00p start.
Wrestling at PORTA tomorrow is ON!

We’re excited to spread some cheer across both LeRoy Junior High and LeRoy High School! Both buildings will be celebrating with their own themed dress-up days and activities. Check out the attached calendars for each school to see what’s planned.
A $5 pancake lunch is planned for THIS Friday, December 12 with all proceeds going directly to the United Way of McLean County. Lunch is available to all JH and HS students and staff.

December 1 - December 18
Drop off your donation in the main hallway at the JH HS.
Thank you!
