Senior Intern Spotlight: LAUREN BOSSINGHAM
Last semester I interned in Kindergarten, and this semester I am currently interning under Mrs. Clarke in first grade. The opportunity to intern at LeRoy Elementary School has better prepared me for when I become an elementary school teacher. Interning has given me so much knowledge and experience. Through this internship, I have been able to experience what it is like to be hands-on in a classroom setting. I have also learned many skills from my mentors, such as classroom management, flexibility, organization strategies, and communication techniques. By having the opportunity to do this internship, I have been able to confirm that teaching at the elementary level is something that I am passionate about.

Thank you to all of our local scholarship donors!

Senior Intern Spotlight: BRODY BENNETT
I have been a student intern at Le Roy Elementary school in Mrs. Fox's kindergarten classroom. Over the past couple months, I have learned how to help our youngest students learn academic and social skills. I have also learned how to build relationships with our kindergarten students. A strong teacher-student connection often helps kindergarteners feel more comfortable and can even help them learn more! I’m happy I got to gain hands-on experience in a classroom setting because it has helped me decide that I would like to teach kindergarten in my future.

Congratulations to the LHS students who were inducted into the BACC Technical Honor Society tonight!
Maggie Roe, Certified Nurse Assistant
John O’Brien, Construction Trades

We are so proud of our career and technical education students for showing great accomplishment in their chosen career programs at the Bloomington Area Career Center!

Senior Intern Spotlight: BECCA LEHR
Over the first semester I interned at Birch&Beams, a boutique here in LeRoy. I was able to gain a lot of experience from my boss, Jennifer, as well as from her mother, Sylvia, who helps and works at the stores. I worked and observed what goes on behind the scenes to keep a small business running and successful. I was also taught some great ways to sell products and how to build relationships with customers. My communication skills and problem solving techniques greatly improved and I’m so thankful to be at Birch&Beams and be a part of their amazing team.
This fall, I will be attending Illinois State University to study Marketing. I am so excited and feel prepared to go into college and into my future with all the experience I have gained during this internship.

Let's go! Our LTV Wrestlers are Regional Champs! 🏆

Senior Intern Spotlight: ASHTYN HALL
I spent the first semester interning with Mrs. Hannah Larson who is the pre-k & kindergarten special education teacher at Le Roy Elementary School. In December, I graduated early from LeRoy High School and I am now a full time paraprofessional in Mrs. Larson’s room at LeRoy Elementary School. It has been such a great learning experience. In the fall of 2024, I will be moving to Florida to attend Florida State and study to become a pediatric occupational therapist!

Congratulations seniors!

Panther Families,
The forecast is calling for ice beginning around 1:00 Monday and potentially continuing into Tuesday morning. We'll know a lot more this evening and tomorrow morning. We are currently planning on attending Monday morning, but know an early dismissal is possible. If we need to dismiss early, I want to make that decision in a timeframe that allows us to get buses back and all students and employees home before the ice begins. Later tonight, after dinner time, we will communicate what an early dismissal would look like. I am communicating about the possibility now so you can make plans for all options between not attending tomorrow to dismissing at the half day mark. If we dismiss early, we will ensure students have the option for a sack lunch to take home. It's also weather so there's a possibility nothing will happen!

LeRoy has 7 students participating in a two day band festival at Illinois Wesleyan. The event will conclude with a concert at Presser Hall tomorrow at 5:30. Congratulations to Logan Sparling, Izzy Pray, Emma Kinkaid, Maggie Roe, Thatcher Ross, Hailey Vollmer-Fogle & Colin Dunafin on being accepted to this event!

Thank you to our maintenance staff, bus drivers, city workers, township, and all those who woke up extra early today to clear our lots, plow our roads, and ensured safe transport of our students to school.

LeRoy Schools are in session today. Bus drivers will be extra cautious today so routes may run a little behind schedule. Dress warm and take your time getting to school, especially our student drivers. Remember we are already scheduled for a cold weatherattendance day today so if you need to drop your regular walker off early so you can get to work, our buildings will be open at 7:00am. We appreciate you only sending them before 7:45am if you absolutely have to.
Whether we decide to have school or cancel, we know there will always be people who disagree with the decision. Regardless of our decision to have school, as a parent you have the ultimate responsibility to decide if your child attends. We are respectful of that decision and the absence will be excused.
