Thank you to Katie Greer on a great presentation and message for our 6th-12th grade students about social media decision-making! Katie is down to earth and reasonable in her message to students. If students took just a few things from today’s message related to social media or life in general, we hope that includes: Slow down and think before posting/saying something, don’t talk to anyone you don’t know, having control over your body is empowering, and healthy relationships do not include pressure. We can all do a better job at managing our screen time. Strive to do better every day.

On Wednesday, October 11, LHS Anatomy and Strength & Conditioning classes attended the Body Worlds RX exhibit at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
The exhibition features real human specimens preserved through Plastination, a technique that removes the fluids from the body and replaces them with plastics that harden. The specimens on display show impressive comparisons and contrasts between healthy bodies and organs from those stricken with disease. Particular emphasis is put on some of the most common ailments such as back pain, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases like arteriosclerosis and heart infarctions, dementia, and more.
Students quotes:
"I really enjoyed going to Body World because it showed every part of the body from arteries to muscles. It was fascinating to see what we are made of."
"I was able to see how the inside of our body looks life-sized, and it was really fascinating."
